Essi Orpana is a visual artist and swing enthusiastic. Her artistic practice is typically lens based but her work expands from photography and video to spacial installations and performance. 

Lately the artist has been working with themes like body and presence interrelated to time, space and identity.

Since the beginning of Helswingi Essi has been planning and executing the festival photobooth  together with Marja Penttinen and Caroline Moinel. This year the artist is also taking part in the festival decoration team. As swing dancing is a passion for the artist so is creating vivid and immersive places for all the beautiful swing people.
